Feijoada (Brazilian Black Bean Stew)

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 medium bell pepper
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 3 pork sausages
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 vegetable stock cube
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pack Brazilian Style Foods Black Beans
  • Yoki Farofa Pronta (Seasoned Cassava Flour)

Instructions

  1. Sauté the onion, garlic, and bell pepper in a pan until softened.
  2. Add the chopped bacon and sausages, and cook until the bacon is crispy and the sausages are browned.
  3. In a separate pot, bring water to a boil. Add the black beans, vegetable stock cube, salt, pepper, bay leaves, and the cooked bacon and sausage mixture.
  4. Let it cook for about 2 hours, or for approximately 25 minutes in a pressure cooker.
  5. Serve with rice and Yoki Farofa (seasoned cassava flour).
